Frequently Asked Questions

Are all Chã Wellness matcha single-origin?

Yes. Every Chã Wellness matcha is single-origin Japanese matcha, sourced from either Shizuoka or Uji, Kyoto.

What is the difference between the five variants of Chã matchas?

Okumidori is smooth and refined; Gokou is rich and umami-forward; Yama Yabu is vibrant and refreshing; Ceremonial AAA is smooth and approachable; House Matcha is our everyday, latte-first option.

Which Chã matcha should I choose?

Choose Okumidori for refined and smooth, Gokou for rich and umami-forward, Yama Yabu for vibrant and refreshing, AAA for
smooth and approachable, or House for everyday lattes.

How do I prepare Chã matcha?

Whisk 3g of matcha with 30ml of water at
approximately 45°C until smooth. Enjoy with water or add milk and serve hot or
iced.

Which milk pairs best with Chã matcha?

We recommend oat milk. Its creamy texture
complements matcha while allowing its flavour and umami character to come
through.

Does matcha contain caffeine?

Yes. Matcha naturally contains caffeine because it is made from finely ground tea leaves. The exact amount can vary depending on the tea and serving size.

What is the difference between first and second harvest matcha?

First-harvest matcha comes from the first tea harvest of the season, while second-harvest matcha comes from the following harvest. Okumidori, Gokou and Yama Yabu are first harvest; AAA and House are second harvest.

Can I make both hot and iced matcha?

Yes. Prepare your matcha with 3g powder and 30ml water at approximately 45°C, then enjoy it straight, over ice or with milk.

How should I store my matcha after opening?

Keep your matcha airtight and protected from sunlight and moisture. We recommend storing the tin in the freezer after
opening to maintain freshness.

How much matcha is in each tin and how many servings does it make?

Each Chã Wellness tin contains 25g. At our
recommended 3g serving, that gives you approximately eight servings.
